Welcome to my "Florida" blog

Being a third generation Florida native, I'm completely enamored with the diverse beauty of this gorgeous peninsula. For most of the year the weather is divine which makes exploring its unlimited nooks and crannies fun and easy.

Wherever I go I appreciate nature and the world around me. Come along with me as I share the places I visit and perhaps a few other amusements I find interesting along the way.

Where Am I?

For all you Florida enthusiast and even those who have an occasional interest in my beautiful state... here's how this works:

I thought it might be fun to occasionally post some of the random photos I've taken from my romp-abouts in Florida and then let you guess where I was when I took the photo... or where the scene is that the photo represents (whichever applies).
If you'd like to include your thoughts (experience) about the photo or the area it represents I'd love to hear about that, too.

I love this photo. It represents the Florida I have spent most of my adult years enjoying. There are many places like this throughout our beautiful state parks, but I am going to guess Highlands Hammock just north of Sebring.

IF it is Highlands Hammock, it is a place I took my boys to many times over the years that we lived in Lake Placid.

Memories have faded after the many years since I was last down thereabouts... I'm going to guess Myakka River State Park. I wonder if I'd be braver about crossing nowadays. 8-} The last one that scared me silly was at O'Leno State Park. *shudder*

Have a JESUS-filled day! ^i^

Hey - that looks just like Hillsborough River State Park to me! :-) Great blog, by the way!

Oh, how I love this look in our beautiful state. I've never been to Highlands Hammock... I'll put it on the list!

Sophie Mae,
You are hereby deemed the Florida Queen of knowledge! Great guess. Hmmmmm... Do we get braver as we get older?

Hey Rich,
Thanks for giving your guess a shot. The Hillsborough State Park is practically in my back yard. It has been lots of years since I visited. Seems I'm always looking to go OUT of town for state parks. :-)

Did Mr. Meems actually go up to the top of that tower with you?

Great pics as always

N.T. Did you mean to leave this on the revealed post? No problem- I got you covered anyway.

YES... Mr. Meems tromped up those stairs without hesitation and actually I was ready to go before he was. It's airplanes he doesn't like. :-)
