Welcome to my "Florida" blog

Being a third generation Florida native, I'm completely enamored with the diverse beauty of this gorgeous peninsula. For most of the year the weather is divine which makes exploring its unlimited nooks and crannies fun and easy.

Wherever I go I appreciate nature and the world around me. Come along with me as I share the places I visit and perhaps a few other amusements I find interesting along the way.

A Winter Day at the Beach

Wonderful! We just crossed the skyway bridge a week ago on our way to a NYY game in Tampa. It was a cloudy, rainy day - not good for photography, at all.

Patricia,
I am in awe of that bridge every time I go over it ... no matter the weather.

SR,
It was blustery that day and the shorebirds were hovering against it. Love to see them in winter.

even the cold beach can be a day of solace in a winter that won't quit! there is always an evidence of more to come in the way of radiant sunshine, inviting swims, and some lazy days of leisure in the months ahead. now the cold plus wind is a little hard to relish, but we Floridians know how to bundle up with outer layers of warmth, and we never abandon our beach outings altogether! just your pics alone were heart-warming for the soul! and i loved the new format too!

We were down there on Sunday and it was simply beautiful. We had a hot dog out on the pier and then walked all over the Fort before driving across the Sunshine Skyway and back. Beautiful, beautiful day.

We went to Homosassa on Monday and spent the day yesterday on the Sponge Docks and went shelling on Anclote Key.

We live in a WONDERFUL area. :)

Gigi,
I never mind the weather of any kind at the beach. Just breathing in that salty air and taking a late afternoon walk on the shore is rejuvenating. Bundled up that day against a chilly March wind but glorious all the same.

Sherri,
Yes, we do and it sounds like you are making the most of it these past few days. A mini-vacay for you?
