Welcome to my "Florida" blog

Being a third generation Florida native, I'm completely enamored with the diverse beauty of this gorgeous peninsula. For most of the year the weather is divine which makes exploring its unlimited nooks and crannies fun and easy.

Wherever I go I appreciate nature and the world around me. Come along with me as I share the places I visit and perhaps a few other amusements I find interesting along the way.

Horseshoe Beach

There isn't too much "beach" to speak of at this small town "nature coast" city. But there is plenty of "old Florida" to soak up.

So many memories up at Horseshoe Beach. When I was young, my uncle had a "beachhouse" up there, and he would generously invite relatives up for the weekend. We'd go into the grassflats on his pontoon boat and spend the day snorkeling (and scalloping).

FG,
Oh, you must have great memories from those days. It has almost been preserved without too many condos. A unique small town for sure. We were scouting it out after passing by the roadsign a zillion times~~~ loved the views of the grassflats.

If you think Horseshoe Beach is old Florida head on down the coast just a tad to Shired Island. It gets pretty remote down there.
